Kelly Doyle graduated from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication with a bachelors degree in Sports Journalism in May 2019. Within weeks of graduating, she was hired by the Emmy-winning Portland CBS affiliate station, KOIN 6 News.
Kelly began her career at KOIN as a digital content producer in July 2019. There, she was able to gain experience creating and publishing online content, sharing it across multiple platforms and collaborating with producers and reporters on numerous articles and projects.
After more than two years as a digital content producer, Kelly was promoted to an audience development manager for the digital team. In her new role, Kelly has implemented new social media, SEO and other distribution strategies to maximize page views for KOIN.com. As one of the digital team's managers, Kelly copyedits and reviews dozens of articles each day, optimizing them for the site and various social media platforms. She helps directs her digital team members, along with assisting in the management of the newsroom's broadcast department.
Kelly has gained invaluable experience in her years at KOIN, covering a variety of topics including, but not limited to, local and national coronavirus impacts, the tumultuous 2020 election, civil unrest and protests in Portland, along with various environmental crises such as the historic 2020 Oregon wildfires and the destructive ice storm of February 2021.
